Prior to becoming a nursery, our beautiful stone building was home to a dairy unit where Ray Simpson milked dairy cows and farmed the 150-acre estate for many years. In 2004, mum of five, Jenna, opened Explorers Day Care, giving the building a new lease of life and creating a space to foster fantastic memories for all of our children and their families.
Explorers aims to help children flourish socially, emotionally and academically, and most of all – to have fun doing it! We’re here to help each of our little people thrive. Here are just some of the unique features of our nursery that families love.

Get ready to connect with the great outdoors! Our fabulous Forest School program lets children play, explore, and learn in nature, fostering their confidence and creativity while they climb, dig, and discover!

With rooms tailored to each age and stage, appropriate learning and playing opportunities are always available, with dedicated team members. Communal spaces including our lovely library are free to explore!
Explorer’s is all about endless adventures: from caring for animals to fun-filled Tots Adventures, our extra activities keep children active and entertained, blending learning with joy!
With fun in every corner, we also make space and time for quiet activities and exploratory experiences in areas such as our custom-built sensory room – a place to relax amd engage with our senses.
0-18 months
A nurturing environment for babies, focusing on individual development through stimulating activities, sensory play, calm time and attentive care from experienced staff.
18 months - 2 years
A vibrant and engaging program emphasising social interaction, language development, and exploratory play to support their learning and growth.
2-3 years
A dynamic and interactive learning environment focusing on enhancing independence, creativity, and social skills through play-based activities and structured routines.
3-5 years
Getting little explorers ready for their next chapter building the foundations for literacy and numeracy through creative and hands-on activities to encourage a love of learning.
